COMBAT RATED AI POLICY

Combat Rated recognizes that artificial intelligence (AI) tools can make research and production more efficient. This policy sets our guidelines for using AI responsibly while upholding accuracy, fairness, transparency, and accountability — the same standards we apply to everything we publish.

Purpose of AI Use: We may use AI tools to help with research, summarizing source material, drafting, editing, headline ideas, and image editing. AI supports our editors. It never replaces their editorial judgment.

Editorial Oversight: Our editors control everything we publish. A human editor reviews every article that uses AI assistance before it goes live and is responsible for its accuracy.

Fact Verification: AI tools can make mistakes. Every specification, figure, date, name, and quote in our content is checked by an editor against credible, original sources. We never use AI to create or alter quotes attributed to real people.

Images: We don’t present AI-generated images as real photographs of real people, equipment, or events. When an image is created or substantially altered with AI, we label it. Routine edits like cropping, color correction, and background cleanup aren’t labeled.

Transparency and Disclosure: When AI plays a significant role in creating a piece of content, we disclose it and explain how it was used.

Bias and Fairness: We review AI-assisted content for bias, one-sided framing, and unfair representation, and correct it when we find it.

Data Privacy: We protect reader privacy and follow applicable data protection laws. We don’t enter readers’ personal information into AI tools.

Accountability: Errors in AI-assisted content are handled under our Corrections Policy, the same as any other error. We welcome reader concerns and feedback about how we use AI — contact us at admin@combatrated.com.
