Stephen Miller Declares the Iranian Armed Forces “Has Been Crushed, Their Leadership Is Dying. Their Ability to Project Their Power Is Waning by the Day. Their Command Structure Is Being Ripped Apart”

Stephen Miller, speaking with Laura Ingraham on March 18, delivered a harsh assessment of Iran’s military capabilities following a series of U.S. and allied strikes. He emphasized the rapid degradation of the Iranian regime and its armed forces, declaring, “Miller – it’s very important that nobody in the United States be gaslit by the Iranian propaganda. The IRGC has been crushed. Their leadership is dying. Their ability to project their power is waning by the day. Their command structure is being ripped apart. Their infrastructure is being steadily eroded. They are being turned into a weaker and weaker and weaker power every single day. That is the story that needs to get told.”

The U.S. and Israeli military campaigns have reportedly targeted key elements of Iran’s defense and political leadership. Among those killed is Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who ruled Iran since 1989, and was succeeded by an interim leadership council. Other senior figures lost in the strikes include Ali Shamkani, former head of Iran’s National Defense Council; Mohammad Pakpour, commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC); Aziz Nasirzadeh, defense minister; and Sayyid Mousavi, chief of staff of Iran’s armed forces. The Iranian Red Crescent Society reports that over 500 Iranians have died as of March 18, reflecting the high toll on the country’s leadership and military apparatus.

Operation Epic Fury, led by U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM), has been central to the campaign. As of March 18, 2026, the operation has executed more than 8,000 combat flights and struck over 7,800 targets. Iranian naval vessels have been severely damaged or destroyed, with more than 120 affected. The campaign has utilized a wide array of U.S. assets, including nuclear-powered aircraft carriers and submarines, B-1, B-2, and B-52 bombers, F-15, F-16, F-18, and F-35 fighter jets, reconnaissance and electronic warfare aircraft, and multiple missile defense systems.

Miller highlighted the speed and efficiency of the campaign, framing the losses as unprecedented. He stated that the Iranian navy has been neutralized, the air force devastated, and the missile program repeatedly disrupted. He credited President Trump with providing clear objectives and operational freedom, allowing U.S. forces to systematically degrade Iran’s military infrastructure and prevent potential threats from being directed at the United States or its allies. According to Miller, the administration’s energy independence and strategic planning enhanced the U.S. position throughout the conflict.

Miller concluded by emphasizing the broader strategic impact of the campaign, asserting that the regime’s remaining leadership is severely weakened and that the United States will not tolerate threats through energy blackmail, missile attacks, or nuclear coercion. He framed the operations as decisive in ensuring the safety of Americans and the global community while leaving the future governance of Iran to its people.
