President Trump Warns — “If Iran Does Anything That Stops the Flow of Oil Within the Strait of Hormuz, They Will Be Hit by the United States of America TWENTY TIMES HARDER Than They Have Been Hit Thus Far”

President Donald Trump warned that the United States could dramatically escalate military action against Iran if Tehran attempts to halt oil shipments through the Strait of Hormuz, declaring that any such move would trigger a response “twenty times harder” than the strikes already carried out in recent days.

Trump outlined the potential consequences if Iran interferes with maritime traffic in the strategic waterway. The president wrote:

“If Iran does anything that stops the flow of Oil within the Strait of Hormuz, they will be hit by the United States of America TWENTY TIMES HARDER than they have been hit thus far. Additionally, we will take out easily destroyable targets that will make it virtually impossible for Iran to ever be built back, as a Nation, again — Death, Fire, and Fury will reign upon them — But I hope, and pray, that it does not happen! This is a gift from the United States of America to China, and all of those Nations that heavily use the Hormuz Strait. Hopefully, it is a gesture that will be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your attention to this matter! President DONALD J. TRUMP”

The statement comes amid the ongoing U.S. military campaign known as Operation Epic Fury, which was launched by Donald Trump at 1:15 a.m. on February 28, 2026. The operation, conducted by the United States Central Command, is aimed at dismantling what officials describe as the Iranian regime’s security and military infrastructure.

During the first ten days of the campaign, U.S. forces struck more than 5,000 targets across Iran. Military planners focused primarily on locations assessed to pose immediate threats, including command and control centers, air defense systems, ballistic missile sites, and military communications networks.

The operation has also targeted Iran’s naval and missile capabilities. According to the initial operational summary, more than 50 Iranian ships have been damaged or destroyed as part of the campaign.

The strikes have involved a wide range of U.S. military assets, including B-1, B-2, and B-52 bombers, along with advanced reconnaissance aircraft such as the U-2 Dragon Lady and RC-135 surveillance platforms. Fighter aircraft including F-15s, F-16s, F-18s, F-22s, and F-35 stealth fighters have participated in the operation, supported by refueling aircraft and cargo transports.

Additional assets include MQ-9 Reaper drones, maritime patrol aircraft, guided-missile destroyers, nuclear-powered aircraft carriers, Patriot missile systems, THAAD anti-ballistic missile defenses, and M-142 High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems.

Targets struck during the first phase of the campaign include headquarters facilities belonging to Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, intelligence sites, ballistic missile and drone manufacturing facilities, anti-ship missile systems, naval vessels and submarines, and integrated air defense networks.

Among the most consequential developments in the early days of the conflict was the death of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei during the initial wave of strikes, an event that significantly escalated tensions between the two countries and contributed to fears of broader regional instability.

Against that backdrop, Trump’s warning that the United States could intensify military operations by a factor of twenty underscores the scale of force that could be brought to bear if Iran attempts to halt oil shipments through the Strait of Hormuz.

The waterway remains one of the most strategically important energy corridors in the world, carrying a significant share of global oil exports. Any prolonged disruption could have major consequences for international energy markets and global trade.

Trump’s statement signals that the United States considers the continued flow of oil through the Strait of Hormuz a critical strategic priority, and that interference with that route could prompt a significantly expanded military response.
